Take the Limits Off of God

By Jheri Thomas

There are three types of people in this world: people who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened.

I ask you today, what type of person will you be?

Proverbs 29:18 says “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Having dreams and goals is vital as we continue to grow in our relationship with God. You will never leave where you are until you see where you’d rather be. You may have set goals in the past and it didn’t work out how you expected. When this happens, the human tendency is to question our own ability to dream or maybe even God.

If this is you, I encourage you to remember who our Heavenly Father is – He’s a dreamgiver!  Remember that God’s timing is ALWAYS the best timing. The goals you’ve set for yourself are simply dreams with deadlines. Give yourself permission to dream again.

Oftentimes when I don’t see the “thing” I’m believing God for, the waiting can get challenging. I am often reminded of something God told me a few years ago. He said, “Don’t let what you see change how you see Me”. This word has gotten me through so many seasons of frustration! He has me, and you, in the palm of His hand!

Maybe this isn’t you. Maybe you’re in the complete opposite situation and thinking “I honestly don’t have any goals or dreams”. I would say to you, think past today! There’s a quote that I like by this guy named Louis Brandeis. It says “Most of the things worth doing in the world have been declared impossible before they were done”.

Think about this, God has placed specific things in our hearts that He wants you and I to do! Why put limits on God? Will you take the limits off of God? Let God be God!
